Description
This Lutheran passion hymn with the German title of Herzliebster Jesu was written in 1630 and has been arranged by many classical composers including J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms and more. It appears in many hymnals today. This straight-forward Level 2 setting for handbell quintet can stand alone. However, it is written in a range that could nicely accompany a vocal solo or ensemble – or even congregational singing.
Handchimes clearly damped could also be used in lieu of the bells.
This is also available arranged for 8 ringers, two bells each. Cat. 1132
